f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS GmbH is led by two Managing Directors: Dr. Thomas Wittig and Marcel Groezinger.

Since 01.01.2010 Dr. Thomas Wittig has been Managing Director of f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS. Dr. Wittig studied mechanical engineering at Munich Technical University. From 1990 to 1994 Dr. Wittig worked as research assistant at the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich in the fields of flight guidance and pilot assistant systems. After completion of his PhD Dr. Wittig worked as system and project engineer at EADS in Ulm with focus on navigation and flight guidance systems. In 1998 Dr. Wittig was one of the founders of Euro Telematik, from 2001 to 2007 he was responsible for Euro Telematik’s aerospace business unit as member of the executive board. After the acquisition of this business through Funkwerk Avionics in early 2008 Dr. Wittig changed his position to become member of Funkwerk Avionics’s management board.

Since 01.08.2026 Marcel Groezinger has been Managing Director of f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS. He studied International SME Management at SRH University Heidelberg, graduating with a master’s degree. From 2019 to 2023 he worked at Yamazaki Mazak Deutschland GmbH, one of the world’s leading machine tool manufacturers, most recently as Business Development Manager. In 2023 he was appointed Managing Director of Chrosziel GmbH, which, like f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS GmbH, belongs to the group of ARENIT Industrie SE. Chrosziel has developed and manufactured precision mechanical, optical and electronic products for film and broadcast since 1973, and entered the defence market in 2025 with optical testing and alignment systems; he continues to hold this position.
