The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has officially published the new Technical Specification ADS-L 4 SRD860 Issue 2, marking a significant step towards the advancement of airborne information transmission in general aviation.

As an active member of the ADS-L Issue 2 Evaluation Board, f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS contributed significantly to the development, evaluation, and validation of the new standard. Our TM350 Traffic & Weather System played a central role and was successfully tested for the following functions:

• Data link capabilities

• Uplink and downlink transmission of weather data

• Exchange of traffic information between aircraft (air-to-air) and between ground stations and aircraft (ground-to-air/air-to-ground)

These results confirm the performance of the TM350 as a modern platform for the secure and efficient transmission of air traffic and weather information. The new ADS-L standard represents a significant milestone within the EASA GA Flightpath 2030+ program.

We thank EASA for the excellent cooperation and the trust placed in our technologies. Together, we are shaping the future of safe, connected aviation.
