Airborne Transceiver ATR833S / ATR833LCD / ATR833OLED / ATR833A

Note:From 01 January 2018 an operator shall not operate an aircraft in European airspace where carriage of radio is required unless the aircraft radio equipment has the 8,33 kHz channel spacing capability (see Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1079/2012 of 16 November 2012). The ATR833 is a complete solution for radios in small aircraft with the new channel separation of 8.33 kHz. The channel spacing can be switched between 25kHz and 8,33kHz. The built-in vox controlled intercom operates up to 4 microphones (2 standard, 2 dynamic). In many cases no extra  intercom is required. This saves cost and weight. All headsets are separately adjustable. Using similar headsets a 4-place intercom can be built-up.

In addition to the standard functions there are 2 memories available. The user can define up to 100 named frequencies to build up an own database. In addition the last 10 frequencies used can be recalled. The ATR833 is available either with  OLED or LCD display.

Since January 2017 the ATR833S replaces the well-known ATR500. The ATR833S complies with the new channel separation of 8,33 kHz. The ATR833S is a completely new development with state-of-the-art digital signal processing resulting in a major improvement of voice quality. The extremely lightweight plastic housing, developed in co-operation with the related company f.u.n.k.e. PLASTICS GmbH, is a significant innovation that reduces the weight to below 400 grams and makes the ATR833S one of the lightest radios in its class. With a list price of 1.007,56 Euros (net price without taxes) the ATR833S is the lowest priced fully certified radio with 8,33 kHz channel spacing capability on the world market and, therefore, the perfect choice in order to cope with the Implementing Regulation from the 1st of January 2018 in Europe.

Since summer 2010 the ATR833A is available as well in a 160mm housing (OLED Display only).

All ATR833 radios (except the ATR833S) can be fully remotely controlled by use of the remote unit ATR833RT.

Note:With effect from the 1st of May 2013 Funkwerk Avionics has acquired the rights to produce and market the airborne transceivers FSGxx from Dittel Messtechnik GmbH, in Landsberg/Lech, Germany.

The FSG90 transceivers are in worldwide operation for decades with an excellent reputation for high equipment realiability, long working life cycle and very robust equipment design. The FSG90 transceiver fulfills the requirements of the implementing regulation of the European Commission of 16 November 2012 with respect to the 8,33 kHz channel spacing, and can be used also in its corresponding base transceiver configuration or for mobile applications (e.g. onboard vehicles). The FSG90 is available as well with extended frequency range (up to 149.975 MHz) and with 10 Watt transmit power (normally 6 Watt).

Handfunkgerät FSG8

Note:With effect from the 1st of September 2013 Funkwerk Avionics has acquired the rights to produce and market the hand-held transceivers FSGxx from Dittel Messtechnik GmbH, in Landsberg/Lech, Germany.

The FSG4 and FSG5 are robust hand-held transceivers with 760 channels in a frequency range between 118.000 and 136.975 MHz. The units have a transmitting power of 1 Watt and include a built-in battery and antenna.

In the meantime the development of the FSG8 was started, which is supposed to be a replacement unit of the current FSG4 and FSG5 and to comply as well with the new channel separation of 8,33 kHz. Certification as hand-held radio for ground applications is planned for the 1st quarter in 2019.
