f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS equipment now in operational use in EGNOS
The "Integrity Box", developed by f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS under subcontract from Thales Alenia Space France (TAS-F), Toulouse, has recently become a part of the operational network of the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS).
The f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS engineering team has been involved in the development of EGNOS for 15 years. The activities concerned mainly the first generation of the EGNOS subsystem "Navigation Land Earth Station (NLES)", which transmits the EGNOS data stream to a geostationary satellite. A test environment for the NLES was developed which remains in use until today.
A second generation NLES, developed by TAS-F in the framework of EGNOS evolution activities, is now in service in the operational network. f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS contributed to this development the "Integrity Box", which compares the uplink und downlink data stream to and from the satellite and interrupts the signal transmission as soon as any discrepancy is detected, ensuring the correctness of the broadcast signal. Thus, the "Integrity Box" is considered a key safety critical equipment in the NLES G2 contributing to the EGNOS system integrity. It is therefore designed for highest reliability and equipped with a range of internal safety measures.
Development happened between 2010 and 2013. Several units were in permanent operation since 2014 as part of the EGNOS test signal generation. Further units will become part of the operational EGNOS constellation in 2016. Long-term operation and availability of the "Integrity Box" is assured by f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS in the frame of a service contract until 2021.
f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS made a further contribution to the second generation NLES development, a complex RF test environment simulating in real-time the complete signal parth between the NLES and the satellite. This hardware-in-the-loop simulation enabled the qualification of the NLES in a realistic environment.

AERO 2015: Welcome to f.u.n.k.e. AVIONICS in Hall B1!
We are busy preparing for AERO 2015 and, if you also plan to be in Friedrichshafen, we hope you will call by stand B1/102!
Of course, again the main focus of this years' exhibition will be on the European 8,33 kHz channel spacing transceiver mandate, which was announced in November 2012. We are happy to advise you about impacts and implementing possibilities. Being the first European supplier for 8,33 kHz capable transceivers, we today have large experience from the operational use of several thousands of units sold and installed in the meantime. Starting with the cost effective ATR833 LCD (with best sunlight readability), the OLED-display version ATR833 OLED as well as the ATR833A OLED in the 160mm ARINC housing we have the ideal solution for all areas of operation. And: all transceivers can be fully operated by use of the ATR833RT remote control. With our new product line FSG90 (former DITTEL) we now have as well a transceiver solution that is certified for ground operations.
Of course, we present as well our Mode S transponder product family, well placed on the market since many, many years: the TRT800H LCD as a cost efficient entry model with LCD display as well as the two models with OLED display, the TRT800H OLED and the TRT800A OLED in the 160mm ARINC housing. All Mode S transponders can as well fully be operated by use of the TRT800RT remote control.
Finally, our traffic monitor TM250 as well as our basic flight instrument BFI57 enjoy increasing popularity! For the TM250 we provide you with an EASA Minor Change Approval for the most popular aircraft types since more than a year!
We look forward to meeting you - as usual we offer special conditions during the exhibition! Follow us as well on Facebook!

Happy New Year 2015!
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all our customers and business partners for the good co-operation and your confidence in the past year 2014. We wish you all the best and much success in 2015!
We look forward to an exciting 2015! The Implementing Regulation for 8,33 kHz radios in several European countries comes closer (end of 2017). As an add-on to our well-established airborne transceivers we now can as well offer the FSG90 (formerly DITTEL) as certified solution for airports and airfields.
Further, we are delighted that in the meantime we received several requests for customised adaptations of our product family. We currently focus on special adaptations of our Mode S Transponder and our traffic monitor TM250: as "Mode S Beacon" für a French radar system supplier, as "ADS-B Repeater Station" for Airservices Australia, as "1090/1030-Receiver" for Eurocontrol or as "Low Power ADS-B Transceiver (LPAT)" for the British Air Traffic Service provider NATS.
For further information please make use of our customer service area on our homepage. As usual we would be happy to meet you in person at the AERO 2015 in April in Friedrichshafen (Hall B1)!
